The Estate Planning Essentials:

Why Plan?

We plan so we can have peace of mind when life’s circumstances take the control out of our hands. Few obstacles are in our way when we handle our property while healthy and competent. However, our circumstances can change in an instant, leaving us without control over ourselves and/or our property.

Estate Planning allows you to plan for many circumstances, including health complications, incompetency, and death. Through Estate Planning, you are able to retain control and ensure that your wishes are carried out whether you are competent or incompetent, living or deceased. Estate Planning is like an umbrella, everyone’s thankful for it when the downpour starts.

What is estate planning?

At Echols Law Group P.C., we believe good estate planning involves planning for when you’re healthy, when you’re sick, and when you eventually pass away. Doing so always requires more than just a Will. In fact, there are four foundational documents to consider while crafting a great estate plan: (1) A Last Will and Testament, (2) A Power of Attorney, (3) An Advance Healthcare Directive, and (4) a Living Trust.

Echols Law Group, P.C. is prepared to assist you in drafting all of these essential documents.

Our process:

The first step to great planning is knowing your options. So, we highly recommend you attend one of our free estate planning workshops. In these workshops, one of our attorneys breaks down what the foundational documents are, how they work, and how they can be used to craft an estate plan that is tailored for different circumstances. To register for one of our free estate planning workshops, click here. As a thank you for attending one of our workshops, we offer a free vision meeting with one of our attorneys.

The next step is your Vision Meeting, which is an opportunity for one of our attorneys to speak with you, discuss how to meet your goals, and review any documents you may have. Before that meeting, we ask you fill out a Personal Information Form (linked below).

After your Vision Meeting, if you decide to proceed, we’ll send you an Engagement Letter.
